Built for the road that never ends. Every 911 has the same fundamental aim: driving. As sportily as possible. That's why the twin-turbo horizontally opposed engine, the transmission, the chassis, the brakes and all the control systems are designed for one thing: the highest performance.
Engine
The engine of the 911 models has a twin-turbo configuration. Its stand-out qualities: exceptional power across the speed range, extraordinarily direct responsiveness and a wide torque plateau, even at low speeds. The horizontally opposed construction, with its short length, low height and position in the vehicle rear allows for a low center of gravity. The engine mounts near the center of the car ensure greater stability and fewer vibrations.
The engines have two turbochargers and charge-air cooling. It's an important element of the exhaust turbocharging and greatly contributes to simultaneously increasing performance and reducing emissions.
Transmission
The 8-speed Porsche Doppelkupplung (PDK) enables incredibly swift gear changes without interrupting the flow of power - in milliseconds. PDK combines a very sporty tuning in first to sixth gear with efficient overdrive ratios (seventh and eighth gear).
All-wheel drive Porsche Traction Management (PTM) optimally distributes drive force between the permanently driven rear axle and the front axle. For excellent drive and an incredibly harmonious handling right at the limits.
Porsche Torque Vectoring Plus (PTV Plus) is a system intended to improve driving dynamics and stability. It works with a precise application of the brakes on the rear wheels and a rear differential lock. For increased stability, outstanding traction and high agility at any speed.
Chassis Systems
More - of everything. The chassis systems optimize the vehicle features of the 911 and make it even faster, more agile and more comfortable.
Porsche Active Suspension Management (PASM) is an electronic damping control system that actively and continuously controls the damping force, depending on the road conditions and driving mode, for each individual wheel. For more comfort with increased dynamics.
Porsche Stability Management (PSM) is an automatic control system for helping to maintain stability at the limits of dynamic driving performance. For a high level of driving stability and extraordinary agility at the same time. In conjunction with Sport Chrono Package, PSM is supplemented by a Sport mode. This allows a significantly more sporty driving style, with PSM remaining active in the background.
Porsche Dynamic Chassis Control (PDCC) is an active roll stabilization system. It suppresses lateral body movement when cornering dynamically. For improved dynamic performance, even more neutral handling and increased ride comfort.
Sport Chrono Package
Adrenaline at the push of a button: the Sport Chrono Package with mode switch, Porsche Track Precision app and tire temperature display. Its functions enable an even sportier tuning of the engine, chassis and transmission.
The mode switch allows you to select different driving styles, e.g. increase the driving dynamics, save your personal preferences or aid driving on wet roads. The Sport Response button prepares the engine and transmission for a fast unleashing of power for approx. 20 seconds of maximum responsiveness.
